Written in 1929, the Sixth Sonata is the longest, most aggressive and most spectacularly pianistic of Prokofiev’s nine completed piano sonatas, and has become established as one of the fundamental works in the piano repertoire of the 20th century. Since 1995, Peter Dmitriev has been giving piano concerts regularly in various European cities, Japan and Korea, while increasing his recognition in his native country.
