Pet Cube Setup
Below are steps for you to manually update the firmware of your device. please, follow the instructions below in order to manually update your Petcube device.
Installing a firmware update:
1. Download the firmware update to your computer from the link: https://storage.googleapis.com/petcubefirmware/firmware/prod/rel/0.7.82.4007/0.7.82.4007.zip
2. Unzip the files (there should be two files, "EPDK.IMG" and a 0-byte file "UPDATE.BOT".
3. Connect your Petcube device to a computer via USB and wait until it starts blinking.
4. Quickly press the start button 3 times in a row.
5. Petcube will run a test and play a voice message.
6. In a moment, it will appear on your computer as an "Untitled" device. If it doesn’t appear on your computer within 1 min, try a different USB port or/and USB cable and the same instructions to connect.
7. Copy and paste the two files to the root folder on the device. Replace files if prompted.
8. IMPORTANT: Before unplugging Petcube from your computer, safely eject the device in Finder (Mac) or safely remove it from the system tray (W?ndows).
9. Unplug the device and plug it back in with a power adapter.
10. Your Petcube Device will boot up and install the new firmware while glowing solid yellow color which might take up to 5 minutes.
11. Once the LED light is starting to blink, please change it to a blinking green by holding the button in for 3 seconds and delete your Petcube from the App.
12. Before you set up your Petcube device again please make sure that your cellular data is turned off, once disabled please open up your Petcube app and start the setup from the beginning.
Once you are done updating the firmware, kindly refer to the steps to re setup your cube
Connect your Petcube Play to a power source and wait up to 30 seconds until the LED light starts blinking. Open ‘Settings’ on your phone and temporarily disable cellular data (mobile data) so that you are only using Wi-Fi during setup.
Open the Petcube App on your Android device, log in or sign up for a Petcube account using your email or Facebook account. Go to the ‘Home’ menu on the left side of the app, select ‘Connect Petcube Camera’ and follow the steps
on the screen.
If the LED light on the camera is blinking, push and hold the start button on the back of the camera for 3 seconds and release it when the LED light changes color. Now, slide left to step in the Petcube App and make sure the light is blinking green. Slide left again to step in the Petcube App and press 'Connect to Petcube network'.
Wait for the Petcube App to exchange data with the Petcube Play and scan for available WiFi networks, then select your home Wi-Fi network from the list, put in your network password and hit 'Connect'. If you don't see your home network on the list or if you're using a hidden network, connect to your home Wi-Fi by pressing 'Connect manually', then enter your network name and password and hit 'Connect' (keep in mind that it is case sensitive).
Once the LED light on your Petcube Camera changes to solid white, you are ready to play with
your Petcube Play.
